My Story

I had a great career in a field that I loved until 2015, when a motor vehicle accident changed my life forever. Now, as an acquired brain injury survivor, I developed severe depression, anxiety, and PTSD. I was able to reach out to get help along with multiple visits to the psychiatric ward. With the help of CMHA I joined Sparks of Brilliance. Art therapy is amazing! My PTSD, my anxiety and depression has improved. Because of that, I am now able to advocate for acquired brain injury survivors. Overall, my mental health has improved. I am a client at the Opportunity Centre, which is a day program for acquired brain injury survivors. Acquired brain injury survivors makes up approximately 70% of those suffering with mental illness. Due to budget constraints, the art program has been phased out. It is now my mission to start an art therapy program at the Opportunity Centre, as I know 1st hand how much healing can be done through art.

Thank you to all the generous people for supporting this program. Without your generosity, BearShareArt.com could not exist as it does today. I greatly appreciate all of the monetary donations as well as art supply and material donations, which allow me to continue my art, and sustain this website.
